JENN & LANA'S SUSAN G. KOMEN WALK

On October 13-15th Lana and I will be participating in an incredible event. We will be participating in this years Susan G Koman 60 miles walk. We will be walking in honor of my mother who is a breast cancer survivor, in honor of sweet little Brecklynn who has also, fought the horrible disease we call cancer, and lastly in honor of Lana's brother who passed away from Leukemia in 1989 and for all the others in this world who have fought this awful disease.
Jennifer's story:
My mom in late 2009 has a lump come up on her chest. After a few doctors appointments and biopsy's ill never forget the day my mom told me she had breast cancer. It was May 2010 when she got the call. Its something you never want to hear from anyone you love are care about tell you, that they have, this awful disease. In Novemeber 2010 she had a double mastectomy and a few other surgeries done. After watching her fight that fight and battle though the surgeries, sickness and the tears I can tell you one thing shes the strongest woman I know and im happy to say today she is cancer free. I cannot wait to finish those 60 miles for her and see her smiling face as i cross that finish line!
Lanas story:
First and foremost I am doing to this to support my best friend Jennifer, I could not fathom the thought of maybe losing my mother to this monster called cancer.
Praise be to God her Mama can stand today and say I am a survivor!!!! I am also doing this walk for my little brother whom was diagnosed at two years old and lost his battle to leukemia at four in half years ago, for my mother whom has battled skin cancer and lastly for our little hero Breck whom has fought this monster and her little soul yells – I AM A SURVIVOR!!!
We will walk because the day a family member recieves a cancer diagnosis, your whole world changes. Immediately you think of the years you may lose with them and of the heavy burdens they now must bear. We dream of a future in which no mother, father, sister, brother, or other loved one has to battle cancer. I will be supporting the fighters, admiring the survivors, and honoring the angels who have all fought this grave battle with cancer.
Every step we take this is for YOU !!!
Please support us as We take on an incredible challenge. Each walker is required to raise a minimum of $2300 to be able to participate. Lana and I have created a team so we can raise the money together since we are both supporting each other and doing the walk together.
Together as a team we need to raise minimum of $4600. All donations go toward cancer research! Thank you all for your support!
