6 yr old Ethan with Meningitis

Ethan Klouda has been sick for nearly 3 weeks. Initially his parents and healthcare providers felt it was a simple virus that would resolve quickly. His symptoms were non-specific; a fever, lethargy and nausea.
This past weekend, Ethan took a turn for the worse and was taken to Lodi Hospital. The hospital was not comfortable treating him as his diagnosis was unknown, and he was transferred to Akron Children's Hospital the same night.
Many doctors and hours later, Ethan was diagnosed with Viral Meningitis. He has been tested for many infectious diseases that could be the origin of the meningitis. Pending results, he is being treated for possible Lyme disease. These test results will be pending for another week.
Typically, Viral meningitis subsides within about 7 days and it is unusual that Ethan is not improving and somewhat worsening now at almost 3 weeks of illness.
Ethan is in excruciating pain and is being given IV pain management medications around the clock. His fever is still raging on and off and he is not eating well.
Besides all of the prayers you can send their way, this absolutely incredible family is in need of financial support.
Ethan is homeschooled and lives on a farm with his big brother Wade, mother Lauren and father Gary. The Klouda family is loving and selfless and they always lend a hand to anyone in need. It's time to return the favor and support them during this crisis.
Gary is currently driving several hundred miles per day in order to go to work, leave work early, go back to care for their farm and then to the hospital and back home again. He is the sole income and leaving work early to be with Ethan, as well as the extra several hundred miles of daily driving, will soon drain them financially.
Ethan is expected to be in the hospital for at least another week. Once released, he will likely need continued treatment and the hospital bills will be mounting.
