BE A PART OF THE SOLUTION
As of January 2017 Action Annapolis has been working toward connecting voters to candidates with some encouraging outcomes in increased voter turnout for the city elections. We have been informing constituents about their candidates and helping to promote dialogue between communities as well as between voters and candidates.
We are excited to now be planning a variety of projects that will continue these efforts during the lead up to the 2018 mid-term elections. We believe strongly in the importance of engaging more voters in the democratic process. To that end, we are planning:
1. Happy Hour for new and current members:
Expanding our reach to younger voters.
April 24, 5:30-7PM
Metropolitan Kitchen and Lounge, Annapolis
(We had a great turnout and signed on lots of new members, especially younger voters!)
2. Forum with Candidates for State Legislature - Senate and Delegates, District 30/30A:
In Partnership with Harbor House/Eastport Terrace Resident's Association and the Eastport Civic Association
May 9, 6:30-9PM
Eastport Community Center
1014 President Street, Annapolis
3. “Under the Radar” Positions
Learn more about the roles of:
County Council/County Executive
States Attorney
County Sheriff
June 19, 6:30-9PM
Asbury United Methodist Church
87 West Street, Annapolis
4. Election Guide and Video:
We are very excited to be creating a print guide and companion video that will inform voters about election basics -
Who are we voting for? What do they do? How does it work? Who are the candidates?
5. Candidate videos of all candidates running in D30/30A (State Legislature) as well as D6 (County).
See our candidate videos at www.actionannapolis.com
As we are not an organization with membership dues, but rather, a group of committed and passionate volunteers, we have no source of funds. These projects all require out-of-pocket expenses, whether for printing of materials, video production, signage or venue fees.
If you find our work to be valuable, your donation can make it possible for us to continue with these projects. Any amount can help!
Please help us by making a donation here, so that we can see these projects become a reality, and continue our grass roots efforts in our community.
THANK YOU!
