Tiny Dancer

This is Tiny Dancer and she just turned Four Years Old on 4/7/18. She passed her Pet Partners Certification for Therapy visits this last October of 2017. I with her brother Elmo and Terry O'Toole were planning to take her on therapy visits to an at risk youth agency for visits in addition to other events as she is very special and provides many people with a lot of joy. She recently became injured with a dislocated hip and I will be honest with you I was considering putting her down however the day I first started considering putting her down she bolted out of her stall when I approached not letting me near her. I tried to catch her and she cantered away from me ( as best she could with only three working legs)out onto the obstacle course showing me that she was not ready to go. So we have decided to go forth and proceed with Surgery that has often been performed on large dogs with hip dysplasia and given her size we feel it will be her best option. No I will never be able to have her pull a cart and she will have limits to what she will be able to to do physically however she will still have a great life with this surgery and still serve her purpose providing therapeutic experiences for individuals outside of the traditional talk therapy. I have had many wonderful times with this little one and watched her create incredible joy for so many. The cost of the surgery through Oregon State University Veterinarian School cost us a total 4215.92 plus we pay weekly 45 dollars to do her hydrotherapy.   This little horse means the world to me and I am inspired by her innate kindness towards everyone she meets. I’m looking forward to her becoming strong enough to resume her work with Petpartners and Trillium Family Services.
