Brad Evans Journey To Full Recovery

Donation protected
Its heartbreaking to see the look of despair in Brad's eyes when he has episodes of headaches, stomach pain and total body weakness. His inability to be his fully functioning self is gut-wrenching. I asked him what in particular are the triggers and his response is that the symptoms are present all the time. Even when he appears to be acting or communicating normally, the pain still exists within. The lyme bacteria has invaded his whole body and has created a horrible psychological reaction of depression and withdrawal from social interaction because the bacteria effects the Central Nervous System. He wakes up everyday dreading another day of feeling like dying. He goes about his daily routine like a robot, then sits silently and suffers. Its heartbreaking! My family and I are doing everything in our power to provide comforting words of support, understanding and guidance. He told us our presence means the world to him and he could never go through this alone especially on days when he feels like he's reached the end of his rope! I'm proud of the research he's done to self-diagnose, seek holistic remedies and follow the doctors protocol of meds and various treatments such as Vitamin Injections, eating healthy foods, O2 therapy sessions, Infra-Red Saunas, Acupuncture, and frequent counseling for depression. Prior to Lyme diagnosis, he saw a myriad of doctors in his search for answers. He finally found a "Lyme Literate" Md. who got him on a path for full recovery which will take many more months. I'm confident he'll remain proactive in this uphill battle to fight and be a Lyme Warrior ! His inability to work has created another source of stress. His lack of ability to focus or concentrate would have made it impossible to perform his normal work routine. Taking a leave of absence was the only option. He needs a calm environment to fully heal and his workplace would have been detrimental to recovery. Brad gave up his apartment and lives with our family to cut costs. The reality of looking towards many more months of medical bills is scarey. Fortunately, his savings account carried him through thus far but is almost depleted. Coupled with this awful illness is the stress and worry that he may not be able to continue paying for medical bills which are unfortunately not recognized by insurance companies. My family and I are helping him financially too but worried what the future holds for all of us. I learned of The Caring Bridge from a dear friend and decided to explore how we could reach out to friends and family for positive energy and healing thoughts. With Brad's permission, I posted his story and found out that a GoFundMe page can also be created in conjunction with the Caring Bridge in case anyone wants to voluntarily make a contribution. All donations will go directly to Brad. When I presented this idea to him, I could see his sense of relief and hope for the future! I shared the messages received thus far from friends and family and he expressed his gratefulness to all of you. Whether or not you make a monetary donation, we want you to know how appreciative we are just knowing you care and will take a moment to say a little prayer for his wellness and journey to full recovery. With Our Love and Blessings, Joan, Brad, Stuart and Jennifer
