Small But Fierce

Hey y’all!!!! I want to start by introducing myself. I am Beth Ingram, daughter of Barbie Fortson. I have never created a go fund me so excuse me if this is all over the place :). My mom, Barbie Fortson, woke up one mornings with a huge lump on her neck. Not knowing what it was, she went to the Dr, who took a biopsy. The first biopsy was not enough to determine what it could be, so they then had to remove the whole lymph node. When the test came back it was confirmed to be Hodgkins Lymphoma. She was taken Friday August 10,2018 to have a port placed in her chest and it has been extremely painful for her. Tuesday, August 14,2018, she had her first Chemo treatment. Yesterday, August 16,2018, it all became very real to me when I took her to try on wigs. Even tho she looked beautiful in them, it really hit me “this is real, she is really going to lose her hair...my mom has cancer” With the sickness that comes with this illness and chemo, she isn’t able to work and medical bills are going to start piling up!! This woman has taken in over 40 foster children and adopted 3! Me Included!! The least I can do is try to help her in this time of need just like she did with me at the age of 13. She put her life into helping kids who didn’t have anyone and I really hope that I can help her when she is in need of it most.She has an amazing support system with her family and also with her work family, Athens Family Dental . I can’t thank them enough for everything they do and have done and continue to do for my mom! Right now I am creating this go fund me to help ease some of the financial burden off of my mom and dad. The last thing they need to worry about right now is money. Thank you all for reading our story and for your prayers !!
