As many of you know, my aunt, Marcia (Heighton) Paquette, was diagnosed with Breast and Thyroid cancer on October 10th, 2013. Last week we were feeling optimistic. Marcia looked great and she said she was feeling well, with little side effects from her treatments.
This past Monday things changed. Marcia was plagued with an unbearable headache. She finally relented on the morning of Christmas Eve and called in to her Oncologist, who ordered an immediate MRI. The results of the thought-to-be migraine were not results any of us were prepared for. On December 24th, Christmas Eve, Marcia was diagnosed with a rare, inoperable brain cancer.
My Aunt Marcia has spent the last 25+ years as a self-employed daycare provider. She has spent the majority of her life taking care of and helping others. Now she is in a position where she needs help.
Marcia and my Uncle Chris are facing the financial burden that too often accompanies unexpected illness. Bills pile up. The mortgage still needs to be paid. Cost of medicines and care that don't fall under coverage continue to mount. I want to mitigate as much of their worry as possible so that the only thing they have to be concerned with is Aunt Marcia's well-being and comfort.
My hope/goal is to raise $5000. Anything you can do to help in this effort, whether in the form of a donation or simply sharing this with others, will be greatly appreciated.

I, (as well as the entire family), am completely overwhelmed by your generosity and all your messages of love and support that have been coming in. Words can never adequately express how grateful we are. Your actions are a testament to the wonderful person Marcia is and has always been to others. I thought this goal would be difficult to reach, realizing that it actually was still too low for the expenses that need to be accounted for. You have showed me that together we can provide for them so let's just keep on going. Thank you from the bottom of my heart and on behalf of the entire family for loving Aunt Marcia as we do, and supporting her in her greatest time of need!

UPDATE 1/8
It is with deep sadness that I inform you all that my Aunt Marcia, surrounded by those she loved most dearly, passed away early this afternoon. We can not express the depth of our appreciation for all the support and love you have shown us and for Marcia in the last nine days. We could have never imagined the love, words, thoughts, prayers and generosity that came flooding in. Our hearts have been moved in a way that we have never experienced and will never be forgotten.
Heaven has gained another angel; may she rest in eternal peace as we learn how to live without her! Our comfort comes in knowing that she is no longer suffering. Cancer is just not fair! We love you, Marcia!
As soon as arrangements have been finalized, I will post that information here as well.
