Xmas For BMT/Blood Cancer Patients

Hi! I’m Nisha! I’ve been a nurse on a Bone Marrow/Stem Cell transplant unit in Dallas for over 18 years now. These patients usually have leukemia, lymphoma, multiple myeloma or other blood disorders. It’s my honor to take care of some of the most wonderful people. There are patients and caregivers who spend months away from home and go through so much and still have a positive attitude. I’m blessed to be able to be there for them! This will be my third year doing this campaign. My first year, we gave gift cards and Christmas gifts to four families. They were young families with children. Last year, we gave 200-300$ gift cards to 14 young families of those who either had a blood cancer or transplant. Due to privacy laws, I cannot give any more information about them. We collected over $1000 the first year and over $3000 last year thanks to the help of some very giving donors! I’m starting this campaign today because it’s my birthday. I’m healthy and thankful for each day of life. That’s a lesson I’ve learned for my patients. Please donate so we can make Christmas 2018 even better. I’ve already started a list of people I want to help this year. Although most have been young, we will help anyone in need.
