Jennifer's Medical Expenses

Two ½ years ago Jennifer’s life (as well as her 10 Yr. old daughter Mya and ours – her parents) was turned completely around. She began having seizures and was diagnosed with cancer (Brain). From then until mid 2017 she underwent the normal cancer treatments – surgery, chemo, and radiation After all the treatments, Jennifer was doing okay for the most part. But in November 2017 Jennifer’s condition began to deteriorate. At one point her entire right side was paralyzed. She had another scan and was told she now had a second tumor growing rapidly. It was back to the hospital again and then to a rehab center. This 35 year old single mother took the news well and continued her fight against this monster called cancer. More radiation followed. Jennifer recovered from this and was sent home on 12/22/17.
In January 2018 her condition again began to deteriorate. She no longer could control her bowel movements and it became necessary to wear adult diapers. Her walking slowed down considerably and, eventually, she was not able to walk at all. Her speech also was affected. She spoke fewer and fewer words until her speech was limited to 2 or 3 words here and there and sometimes unintelligible. It was back to the hospital once again. After undergoing more testing we were told we had to meet with Jennifer’s doctor. We had to hear him say that he had exhausted all treatments to try to eradicate this disease. He did have one last treatment - another type of chemo but generally patients can only tolerate it for 6 months as it has severe side effects. The doctor said with this new chemo Jennifer’s speech should get somewhat better but she would not regain her ability to walk!
We were told it’s time to make “End of Life” preparations!
Giving up is not an option. We have nothing to lose at this point. So we got Jennifer approved for medical Marijuana. We began this new treatment in mid January 2018. We are hopeful this will help Jennifer in her fight. Only time will tell.
Cancer has done its damage, no doubt but, with strong faith and love, we believe all things are possible. We need your help to GET THERE!!
The Financial burden is real and it’s a MAJOR obstacle Jennifer faces! Out-of-pocket expenses, Co-pays, Deductibles, and prescription costs all add up. It’s an added stress that survivors and folks in treatment know all too well. Financial resources are limited. Jennifer & her family need your help!
