Hello, my name is Wren Drnevich. I’m a full-time university student who spins open independent class at WGI with Main Line Independent. I also spin in my university guard and spun with the Blue Stars in 2024, with intentions to return to the DCI field in 2025. Colorguard has been my life ever since winterguard tryouts in 9th grade, and while the journey has been rocky, I’m grateful for every second and can’t see myself doing anything else. I love to choreograph, with flag being my favourite piece of equipment. Seeing what I can put together on my own is a huge creative outlet for me, so much so that I started creating and posting my own routines on TikTok and Instagram, both accounts under the username @airflagit. Someday I hope to help choreograph and design shows, but until then I’m focused on getting as much experience as possible. My life with Maine Line started my freshman year of college. After auditions I was offered a callback and eventually taken on as an alternate; soon I was given a permanent spot, but more than anything I was thankful for being given the opportunity to learn. My time with them later helped me with Blue Stars auditions, who then pushed me far beyond what I ever thought I could do. Guard has given me inseparable friends, an incredible support system, and inspiration—not just on the kind of performer I want to be, but on what kind of person. They taught me how to be confident in myself, to stay focused and determined, but to also have fun. There is no word that exists to describe how much this sport means to me, which is why I created this GoFundMe to help so that I can continue participating in this wonderful activity. Any support helps, no matter how small, and anything I happen to raise over I plan to donate to WGI’s campaign, Invest in Indoor, because every group/individual deserves to have an amazing performance experience! And If you can’t donate now, please share this so it reaches as many people as possible.
