It's that time of year again! Let raise some more money to buy TOYS, GAMES, BOOKS, ETC for the kids of the Children's Hospital of Illinois!
I'm hoping to raise $1000 this year! Here's how it works:
1) You donate to me.
2) My family goes out on Black Friday (crazy busy but we get more bang for the buck) and buys as much as we possibly can.
3) We show up to Toy Drop Off Day at the hospital with a truck full of stuff and make a bunch of kids smile!
100% of the money you donate goes to the kids. I make up any GoFundMe fees out of my own pocket. This will be year 5 of this charity... lets make it the best year yet! We are about $700 away from being able to proudly say we hit that $20, 000 mark! So I'm hoping this is the year!
Why do we do this? The wonderful doctors and nurses and staff at the CHOI were there for us when we needed them. In May of 2013 they took my brand new baby girl Catalina and fixed her up. They were there for her and they were there for a couple of new parents that were totally overwhelmed. So when they announced Toy Drop Off Day in 2016 I knew this was a great way to give back! These toys are not just given out at Christmas time. They are given out all year to make the kids stay a little bit better! Toy Drop Off Day is usually scheduled for the first Saturday of December!
