Help For Ed Schluter

On Wednesday morning (August 8, 2018), my mother-in-law found my father-in-law dead lying in bed. She had gotten up early and fell asleep on the couch in the living room, and when she woke up- wondered why he wasn't up getting ready to head off to work. She called EMS and they responded quickly and were able to resuscitated him. He has been in ICU ever since. He has been making a good bit of progress regarding having his life support lessened, and has shown a lot of promise regarding his cognitive ability, but he still has a long road ahead of him. The doctors are waiting to see if he can stabilize enough for open heart surgery due to blockages they found and contribute to why he went into cardiac arrest. Due to his mental and physical state we are unsure how long/if he'll be able to return to work. Combining this with the fact that they currently have an upstairs apartment and will need to move (closer to daughter and a downstairs apartment), there are a number of expenses that they are facing immediately, and more right on the horizon. He’s trying to talk and they were able to take the breathing tube out of his throat, but he's confused and very frustrated. He will have some assistance with medical bills from one of his jobs (Aflac), and thankfully has medical insurance, but since he's classified as part-time at both jobs he wasn't eligible for other benefits, and his wife, Holly, is on disability. We are struggling to pay bills and moving costs. I hate asking but if anyone has anything to give we would greatly appreciate anything. Please share ❤️
