Helping My Sister

Donation protected

Let me begin by giving you a little background on my sister and I. We were bounced from home to home most of our childhoods. Our mother was murdered in 1982.

My father was in jail at the time of the incident and the state granted him release as long as he never returned to VA. So he moved to Florida with our grandparents.

Eventually he got custody of us and we moved to Florida to our grandparent's home. From the onset it was tumultuous. We ended up leaving their house with our father.

My sister and I dealt with the affects of having an addict as a father. We lived in poverty and neglect. This leading to emotional issues and behavioral problems.

My sister stayed with my father when I left in 1987 to return to VA. She wouldn't leave my Dad behind. She felt in some way responsible for him.

As the story played out my sister ended up pregnant at merely 12 years old by a guy twice her age. They were in a relationship that was disturbing but seemingly not so much due to the surroundings. I know that sounds crazy , and it was.

My sister ended up having 2 boys with this man before he left her behind to raise them with the help of my father. Who lived with her still.

In 1991 my father died in his bed.at the age of 37. My sister found him. I can only imagine what that did to her. She was ok for a couple years afterward and had another baby (girl) with her current husband.

The trauma caught up to her and she started getting caught up self medicating. This went on for many years and took on different forms. Some worse than others.

My sister has struggled her whole life. Raising 4 kids with minimal income made things extremely difficult. Unable to stay in one home for any length of time , made life unstable for my sister and my nephews and nieces.

There were better periods when her husband was working steady and such. Despite my ups and downs with them , I am starting this campaign seeking help.

I have done everything I ever could for them and am not in a position to help them into a better situation.

My sister has diabetes and suffered a stroke leaving her in a wheelchair. Her husband's health is on the decline and he takes care of her as best he can. However it is not enough.

They go without on a daily basis. We send them dinners and money to help when we are able.

My sister is now sober and a different person. We have been in communication weekly and sometimes daily for a little while now.

Their current living conditions are far from ideal and they hope to get into their own cheap rental. Problem is they do not have enough to make this change for the better.

I ask for help from those of you who are able to. I am trying to raise enough to get them a place and set them up to be able to eat without worry and live without fear of getting tossed out.

Please if you can spare anything , I am appreciative and grateful. I will be handling the campaign and funds to be relinquished on their behalf.

I hate to ask , but they need the help. Thanks for your time. God bless
