Bringing Comfort To Cindy Smith

As her family and friends well know, Cindy has experienced terrible losses and immense suffering in the past 6 years. Her 32-year-old son, Ben lost his battle with addiction and mental illness in 2012. It was the first of many blows to Cindy. In 2013, she was diagnosed with stage 4 liver failure. Hospitalized several times, she continues to struggle with this deadly diagnosis. In 2015, her husband, Rod, was diagnosed with colon cancer and died 6 days later. Since, Cindy has been hospitalized several times for many reasons. In 2016 she was diagnosed with dementia/Alzheimer’s. Her most recent hospitalization was due to a suicide attempt. She suffers Major Depressive Disorder, and due to liver issues is unable to take many medications that could provide limited relief for this disorder. She is now required to have 24 hour care in a locked facility. The income she receives, including Medicare, covers only a fraction of the needed monies to keep up with her care. The minimum cost, per month, for her care is $4,000. This does not include ANY additional services. Any donation made will go directly to her comfort and care. Including; doctor visits, procedures, testing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, psychiatric therapy, group therapy, hospitalizations, medical bills, and living expenses at Brookdale Senior Assisted Living in Tulsa, OK, just to name a few. Please help in any way you can to provide comfort to Cindy for these incurable diagnoses. As her Durable Power of Attorney, my family and I have put all our time, resources, and support in for the past 6 years, and we are now asking for outside help.
