Attention !!!!!
It is mental health awareness month !!

Would like to help me help others who are struggling ?

To date I have saved 19 people in less than 2 years since I came forward .

Some I knew some I did not. My new book " There's Light in the Tunnel " How to survive and thrive with depression, details how I came back.

Last month the the CDC announce the 1 st leading cause of death between ages 15-44 years old was overdose.

2nd leading cause in the same age group was
SUICIDE !

Prior  to Covid we were loosing 22 veterans a day to suicide

Now from my sources it's 36 a day !

This is unacceptable ! Please help me in my mission to save others !!!

On May 20 and 21 st I am competing against 25 others speakers for the $2000 prize  which I will purchase more 800  books to donate to mental health clinics , domestic violence shelters and veteran's centers. This competition will also give me the raw footage that I will use to become nominated for a TEDx this year.

Please help me today! I have been featured on ABC RI, Nyweekly , Flip Art and many others. I will be performing many talks over the next month.

Here is an excerpt from my book.

"My name is Coach Kevin Kearns and I was the kid that was “Aways Picked Last “(my first book ). I had a life changing event at 12. My father died of alcoholism and my world was crushed !

I have spent 36 years in teaching in the world of fitness and martial arts . My passion is the help people everywhere become healthy and healthier. Then fast forward in 2007 I became the conditioning coach to 15 UFC Fighters ,  published over 200 articles in industry publications, produced a best selling mma fitness series , and started an international certification program. Pretty good for the kid that was always picked last !

But I too fell prey to depression, anxiety and attempted suicide twice in 2019 and unfortunately a bare the scars as a reminder. It was not one thing that cause it , it was many things. I became overwhelmed. A messy divorce, dating again at 50 , business sliding , only seeing my kids 50 percent of the time, selling the family home and on and on it went.
I was guilty of the stigma on mental illness. " I can handle it I'm Coach Kearns ! "

" It's all in my head! "

"Suck it up" and on and on the tape played in my head.

I was hit with anxiety attacks frequently. They were debilitating!
My deep depression was so bad my digestion was off , my lack of enthusiasm for exercise , my sleep pattern, and everything else felt like a cement overcoat.
My kids moved out and that was my tipping point.
I literally tried to slit my own throat.
The next day I went to the Tobin Bridge and I look for a spot to park and jump off. A state trooper pulled me over saw the patch on my neck and sent me to my therapist.
On 12/24/19 I woke up at Mclean Hospital in Belmont Mass in a locked down unit.
That's where I celebrated Christmas which was the best gift the universe had sent me.

This is why I wrote my second book “ There’s Light in Tunnel “ how to survive and thrive with depression.

It’s my mission to help people who suffer and have suffered with mental illness get their lives back with proper nutrition, exercise , and mindset programming!  If you know me or meet me you will realize I am relentless !
I will not stop until I help end the stigma of mental illness !

Respectfully and sincerely
