Tragic Causeway Accident Survivor

Donation protected
I am posting an update in the initial post because there was some confusion with the “GoFundMe” customer care team.

Tommy is home and getting around great, for the most part. Everything that was required for his emotional and physical support including follow up X-rays while recovering in the rehab unit was delayed for some reason but we’re trying not to be discouraged. We’re all staying positive and his medical team is working hard to get everything in order.

We’re still having issues with the bills that keep pilling up while he’s restricted at home. As soon as I (Samantha, his sister) can start withdrawing the campaign funds it will get a lot easier. Tommy will start by paying off the past due bills and hopefully get caught up quickly so his mind will be at ease. Please keep sharing the post to help get the word out.

My brother Thomas Hanson, son of a Navy Veteran, was hit on the side of the causeway Thursday night between Woodland and Sacramento while trying to fix his vehicle. After being struck by the other driver, his blazer’s tire had bounced and rolled on top of him causing major extensive injuries. After a number of people had stopped and lifted the vehicle getting him free, he was transported to the local hospital there in Sacramento.

He has sustained several broken bones including both feet/ankles, ribs, pelvic/hip area and shoulder as well as abrasions, bruises and road rash from the tire pushing him along the pavement. He is still admitted with an unknown date of discharge.

We are trying to raise money to help with his daily/monthly expenses as well as the tow yard costs of towing and holding fees of his vehicles. He will also be unable to work for several months after he returns home. These are just some of the burdens we will all face and are currently facing due to this tragic accident.

Tommy has always been the go to person for help and would do anything in his power to help friends and strangers. This time he needs the same from everyone else. He has also come a long way from being homeless and only working from time to time to now renting to own a home and running his own handyman business.

Currently we do not know any information of the other driver since the CHP is still doing their own investigation and can not release the actual police report.

We are also asking for people to come forward if they have any information (pictures, video, any knowledge) of this accident to please contact me.

Thank you so much in advance and please keep prayers and positive vibes coming!!! I will be posting updates as soon as we hear back from his medical team! Please share!
