A Service Dog for Grace
Donation protected
My name is Grace Parr and I am 11 years old. I was diagnosed with type 1 diabetes on Labor Day of 2017. This means my pancreas no longer works and my body depends on insulin injections. It is a very horrifying disease but is even scarier when I am asleep and do not know if my blood sugar is too low or high. If my blood sugar is too low I can go into a diabetic coma or even die! I need a diabetic service dog so that it can alert me when my blood sugar is too low or really high. I need a diabetic service dog as soon as possible so I can sleep through the night without worries or even go to sleepovers at my friends houses.
If I got this dog it could also be like an emotional support dog because I have anxiety. When I get stressed out it effects my blood sugar. This dog could be my best friend. When I get overwhelmed with my diabetes the dog would always be there to comfort me. He/She would help me through my life!
My dream is to be an anesthesiologist. When I go to college I will be by myself. If I were fortunate enough to have a service dog, it would be able to wake me up at night if I am low. Please help me make my dream come true and give me my future best friend.
