Medical Care Fund For Jacqueline

Donation protected
Hello everyone, I’m Chris Scanlan’s cousin Heidi Serena and I’m advocating on behalf of my cousin and his beautiful new wife Jacqueline for donations to help with medical costs associated with Jacqueline’s recent heart wrenching diagnosis of Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell lymphoma. These two have been married a short 4 months and are going through this very hard time right now. Chris was kind enough to share with me this news just today and I just knew there had to be something I could do to help them, even in some small way. They are about to incur some hefty medical bills and this young couple could use all the love and support we can rally together for them! They truly are a beautiful couple and I was lucky enough to be at their wedding this spring and see first hand how much they love each other! Please, if you can, donate to their cause. They don’t know how much money they will need so I’m setting the goal of $10,000 as we all know cancer treatment is not a cheap process and we want them to not feel the burden of something like this so early in their young lives and especially within the first year of their marriage. So I kindly ask as a community of friends and family of Chris and Jacqueline that you donate if you are able, even a small amount goes a long way. If you are unable to donate please share this page so others my have the opportunity to help as well. Here are a few words from Chris in more detail about what Jacqueline has been going through: Six years ago, when I worked for the Department of Highways on a summer internship, I was flagging one day near the road that Jacqueline happened to live on. I saw her a couple times and I would stop her car just so I could talk to her a little. Couple days after this I asked her out on a date and the rest is history. We recently got married on April 28, 2018, which was the happiest day of our lives. All our family and friends were there to witness it. Couple months into our first year of marriage we would begin to experience our first hardship together as a married couple. On July 31, 2018, my wife went in to see her doctor because she had some swelling in her upper neck and head. He took one look at her and arranged for her to have a CT scan done of her chest area on August 2, 2018. The CT scan was performed at Berkeley Medical Center in Martinsburg, WV. That same day on August 2, 2018 the hospital read her results and immediately admitted her into the ER because a mass was found in her chest that was completely blocking her SVC that leads to her heart. Since Berkeley Medical Center did not have a thorax specialist, we were told that she needed to be transported to Inova Hospital in Fairfax Virginia due to our location to this hospital. She was driven by ambulance to Inova Hospital. Once she got there she was admitted into the ER. On August 7, 2018, she has been diagnosed with Primary Mediastinal Large B-cell lymphoma. She is currently going through her first cycle of chemotherapy. She has a total of six cycles to go that will be given to her every three weeks. As of right now she is currently not insured. The family has been helping in any way they can by taking care of our dogs and house while we have been in the hospital. This is going to be a tough fight but in the end God always has a plan and they say the first year of marriage either makes or breaks you. I think this will make our relationship even stronger as we get through this tough time.—-We appreciate any donations you may be able to give. Let’s show Chris and Jacqueline that they are not alone in this fight and the people who matter most in their lives care for them like we know they would care for us in our time of need. Thank you all for your time!
