LeAnn died at 1157pm Tuesday January 9, 2018 in San Antonio, Texas In memory of her life and as a legacy of her battle to survive cancer, I will try to maintain her #CancerWarrior page and complete her book to help others that are fighting the good fight. Rich (NOTE: This was the most recent introduction LeAnn posted around 2016, it will remain indefinitely. ) For 8 years, I have been a cancer warrior.  I was diagnosed with colorectal cancer in 2008.  After completing 9 1/2 weeks of daily radiation and weekly chemotherapy, doctors were able to remove the tumor with clean margins and seemingly no lymph node involvement.  The surgeon dissected 15 lymph nodes and all were clear of cancer. Five years later, the same kind of cancer came back, this time in my lower left lung.  After experiencing athsma-like symptoms, a scan revealed that my lung had collapsed because the tumor was blocking my airway.  Since 2013, the cancer has returned 3 times. I have lived as normal as I can for as long as I could.  In September 2014, I had to quit my full-time job because side effects of the chemotherapy treatments began to impact my work.  Since then, the bills have been piling up and I do not see anyway out of this hole besides turning to my social network for help.  Thus, I have set up this GoFundMe page.   It's hard to ask for help.  And I know in this economy it's even harder to be able to give.  However, if you are able to help, even just a little, I will be most grateful.  The fund will be used to pay the medical bills and insurance premiums, to help with housing costs, and to pay back those to whom we owe money. Removing some financial pressure will go a long way toward making me well again.  The stress of keeping up with expenses can sometimes be overwhelming.  If you are able to give, thank you.  And if you cannot, I understand.  Thank you all for your support, for keeping me in your prayers, and for sending good healing vibrations my way.
