Diane's Care

Donation protected
The photo is from my younger sister's wedding on June 22, 2013. Ten days later, our mom, Diane Soos, went to have what we all believed was a hemorrhoid removal surgery. Unfortunately, that day we learned that she was not suffering from that. Instead, she had a malignant mass. She was also suffering from a severe infection in her abdomen and lower backside that was near septic. The doctor gave her a colostomy bag, as well as a wound vac in her stomach. Unfortunately, for some reason, the doctor decided to create an open wound in her backside. The best description to understand the severity of this open wound, as my sister described..."like cutting a breast off." This wound is a stage four open wound that can take up to a year or longer to heal. My mother's condition has left her in 24 hour hospice care. We know that hospice does make people nervous as in most cases it means end of life care. She is in a private home now, receiving wonderful care from a woman named Billy Davis. Her and her husband have opened their home to my mom, as well as all of us, for any visitation, day or night. Mom's wound is healing, slowly but surely. Billy has provided care that we are unable to do. I've created this page because multiple family members and friends have asked what they can do to help. My sibling and I have been paying the "rent" as we call it for the care while Dad takes care of the bigger, nastier bills. There isn't much we can do to help her, but this care is what Mom NEEDS. Billy has unfortunately had to raise that rent, and after consulting with one family member for his opinion on this, he agrees that this can be a great way for everyone to help. We do pay Billy monthly and she proceeds to use the money for the household bills, groceries, medical supplies and any other miscellaneous things that pop up. Please feel free to donate what you can, when you can, because every little bit helps. Please share this with your friends and extended family as well. Continue praying for Mom because those prayers are most certainly heard. God bless every single one of you loving and attentive souls.

(Mom is in the purple dress...which she looked mighty darn good in!)
