Double Transplant for Mark De La Garza

Those of us who are blessed enough to know Mark De La Garza know that he is a man who would give everything he has without hesitation and ask nothing in return. This is one of the many reasons we love Mark so much, but we have to ask for help in making sure he gets the care he needs so he can continue blessing the lives of those around him.
After a long and difficult road, the doctors determined that Mark needs both a kidney and heart transplant, and Mark and Cathy need to travel from El Paso to Houston to ensure he receives the appropriate care.
Mark has struggled with his health since 1998, when he was diagnosed with end-stage renal failure due to hypertension, but was fortunate enough at the time to receive a kidney. Eight years ago, he battled West Nile encephalitis which severely limited his physical capabilities, even leaving him unable to walk by himself. He is a fighter though, and pushed through physical therapy until he was able to regain his strength and ability to walk. He is truly Superman, and nothing can hold him down! However, in March 2018 the kidney that had lasted him 20 years failed, and he had to go back on dialysis.
Mark continues to fight, despite the dire circumstances.
Mark’s kidneys fully shut down, which limited the amount of fluid he can consume without fluid building up in his lungs. As the fluid over-flowed into his lungs, it caused into congestive heart failure, leading to the need for a new heart.. Without this surgery, he could lose this battle.
We are asking that our community pulls together for the De La Garza family. Funds raised would help to lessen the burden of medical expenses and travel for Mark.
Please help us to get Mark back on his feet so he can continue to bless those around him, grow old with his wife, and walk his beautiful daughter down the aisle one day. Every donation, share, and prayer are greatly appreciated!
