Keep Rose’s Heart Beating

Donation protected
Meet Rose. She’s a petite 4 month old American Bully mix who loves car rides, long walks and pestering her older “brother” Jethro. Two and a half months ago, I adopted her through a bully rescue in North Alabama. While she may have been the smallest of her litter, she certainly has a large personality! She’s a funny, feisty girl who absolutely stole my heart the first time I saw her. When I took her to be spayed a month ago, we discovered that she has a congenital heart defect called PDA or Patent Ductus Arteriosus. We learned last week at her first cardiologist appointment that this needs to be fixed as soon as possible. This defect can be fixed through a minimally invasive operation at Auburn University which costs $2300. Without this surgery, she will not grow normally, her expected lifespan will be cut in half and even that will be filled with vet visits, medications and eventual painful heart failure. Having the procedure done would greatly improve her quality of life in the long run and help ensure Rose lives a long, healthy and happy life. I was prepared for the usual expenses of owning a dog but this took me by surprise and I am afraid she will start experiencing negative, irreversible side effects of this defect before I could save the money to have it taken care of. I’m asking you for your help. If you can help make sure she gets the care she needs, I would greatly appreciate it. Any amount you can afford will help get her on the path to recovery that much faster. Thank you so much for your generosity!
