Medical Emergencies lead to foreclosure.

Donation protected
Kenny Garrett and Mandy Martinez have been together for 21 years and have 3 exceptional children together Mia (19), Jesse (14) and Emmalee (10). They had lived in the FM area for the majority of those years until 9 years ago when they moved to
Kindred, ND.

Five years ago, Kenny's health was declining rapidly, and he needed a kidney transplant. After receiving a new kidney, life was looking good for the family.

Suddenly, in 2021 Kenny started noticing some old symptoms returning....... Unfortunately, the new kidney had begun to fail. Kenny started hemo dialysis three times a week for four hours at a time, putting a physical strain on him and making physical labor nearly impossible.

In January of this year, after a dialysis session, Kenny returned home to rest. Shortly after
returning home, Kenny began to have a grand mal seizure. Kenny's terrified family bravely waited for the ambulance to transport him to Sanford Hospital.

An unknown mass was found in Kenny's brain, and he was removed from the transplant list. Due to his seizure, he was not allowed to drive, which ended any type of work for him. 19-year-old Mia took a sabbatical from NDSU to be able to help at home with her siblings and anything else that needed to be done.

Kenny and Mandy were accepted as patients at the Mayo Clinic in Rochester; after many appt and tests/scans, it has been determined as of May 2022 that the mass on Kenny's brain is not cancer !! And Kenny was added back to the transplant list., which is a HUGE relief to the family. Kenny is currently looking for employment that can accommodate a grueling dialysis routine and extreme nausea and fatigue.

All the good news came to an end when the family received a foreclosure notice in the mail this past weekend. To come current with their mortgage and stop the foreclosure, they need to come up with $3400 by July 1st.

The family is working with many agencies to get help, but nothing has come to fruition yet, so they are selling personal items to raise money quickly.

If you can, please donate to this family to get them back on their feet and headed in the right direction.
