Alivia's Road To Recovery

On July 28th, our family's world turned upside down. My sister, Alivia had a devastating stroke at the age of 15. She was brought to Mercy Hospital, in Roseburg. Alivia was then life flighted to Portland OHSU Doernbecher. At Doernbecher, she was immediately rushed into surgery to remove a blood clot in her brain (which caused the stroke). We were given the horrific news that our sweet Alivia has permanent damage to the right side of her brain. Due to that, she has lost the use of the left side of her body. There are no explanations yet to why this would happen. Tests are being done every single day to her to help find the cause. This is very uncommon for someone Alivia's age. My sister is a fiesty, spunky, silly, caring young lady. Alivia loves to play basketball, swim in the river, go on runs, horse back rides, hang out with her friends, nature, animals, and spending time with family. Our goal is to get her back to things, God willing. Alivia has the fight of her life ahead of her. She will be in Doernbechers for several more weeks. We have been told she will not be able to come home with us. From the hospital, she will then enter Rehabilitation facility for the next 3 month's. We have been told that Alivia will not live her life without assistance. She may need constant care. My family and I are not ones to ask help from others, but at this time we need your help. We will need help covering medical bills(that insurance doesn't cover), the financial burden of living out of town, and Alivia's rehab/care needs. We have no words to express the amount of gratitude we have for any amount of help. Please continue to pray. Thank you much love, Breanna
