The world changed on May 17th, 2015
This is the story of our Foundation's namesake. It is a story of profound loss; but, also of hope...and the healing journey of Katie's family, friends & pets. On May 17th, 2015, Katie Erickson , was unexpectedly & tragically found & pronounced "Gods Newest & most vivacious Angel"
Katie Erickson's family & friends have been forced to approach even our darkest day with a spirit of gratitude.
Most of us know, but for those who did not have the pleasure & blessing to know....Katie's caring spirit, amazing zealous smile & resounding laugh drew people to her. She was always there to lend a helping hand, provide an ear to listen & to give a smile that would brighten someone's worst & even best day. Her career had always matched her personality. She chose to work with children first, and aid them in the right and healthy direction. "Miss Katie", as the kids called her, we're changed in so many ways... As was everyone who knew her.
This devastating fallout from this tragic event is beyond our comprehension. We simply don't have a normal category for processing what we've experienced by loosing her.
Katie was an animal lover & rescuer. We pray that she meets up with Marty. Given her passion & love for her pets & every other unclaimed animal.. We, her family & friends, would like to donate enough money to The Humane Society to have a bronze plaque engraved in Katie's honor. In addition, donations to help Katie's family towards the cost of funeral arrangements, is Immeasurably appreciated.
We miss Katie everyday and it is good to know that people continue to live on through the gift of life she gave.
