New Roof for an Old Library Building

Donation protected
We're a small town, working together to raise money to rescue an old building and turn it into a library. The building was built in 1929 as a library. It was used as a City Hall building after the library closed in the 1970s. Now it is standing empty. Our town has a Bookmobile that was generously donated by Linn County in 2008. It is operated by volunteers, and it is quite small.

Refurbishing and moving into the old library building will give our collection a new home, space to add new materials, and new and updated resources for our community. Replacing the roof on the old building is the first step. It will help to preserve the building and protect the work of the volunteers as we work on the rest of the building. It will help to protect the books already being donated and sorted and stored there.

Please help us! A permanent Library building will add so much to our community, from supporting the educational programs of our schools and our home-schooling families in the area, to providing new and updated circulation materials for adults. Restoring this building also honors its history, and preserves an old building by giving it a new, useful life.
