Brian's Medical Fund

To make a long story short on May 15, 2017 my brother went to the walk- in clinic thinking he had strep, they said "no just a cold, here is some antibotics, you'll be fine."  The next day May 16, 2017 is when things went downhill quickly! Brian texted me at 5:30am that "I think I need to go to the hospital I'm spitting up blood and can't breathe". I picked him up and took him to Lee Memorial. Everything happened so quickly... high fever, swollen throat, and severve pain. They asked me to leave the room because they wanted to get a breathing tube in him because they thought his airway was going to close. When I came back, to my surprise, they had to do an emergency tracheotomy(his throat closed and blocked his airway, they had no choice), they had put him in an enduced coma, and they were transferring him to Gulf Coast Hospital where they had a surgeon waiting on him. I was in shock... what the heck is happening? They let me talk to him... said he could hear me. I kept it cool till I walked about - then fell apart. One of the worst days of my life! Well Today marks a 16 day battle and we still dont have many answers. He is still in ICU, with what they say is still a long road of recovery. The doctors, nurses, and staff have been amazing. He has many doctors now - they are calling it a perfect storm. Some tests are pointing in one direction and other tests are pointing the other way. The only thing that is for sure doctors know that the infection started in his tonsils. They are also about 98% sure he has something called Lemierre Syndrome, which is a rare and potentially life-threatening infection. They have been treating him for Lemierre, but something is fighting the antibotics. They have found a solid mass in his right lung that they did a biospy on yesterday. Hopefully we will have more results within 5 days. I can't Thank everyone enough for  your thoughts and prayers. There has been many complications... too many to list! Brian is on many prayer lists and I truly believe this is what has got him this far.
While we were not telling anyone till it's a 100% the stress is building on Brian. No pay check, no medical leave, no insurance(can't afford it), and possibly a very long road to recovery. Many people have called to help, this is why I'm turning to GoFund Me.
