Christmas Magic for Markus

In August 2013, my dear friend received the most horrifying news - her youngest son Markus was diagnosed with a very rare form of cancer known as Rhabdomyosarcoma (commonly referred to as RMS sarcoma).
Since August, Markus has been through things that no child should ever have to face. He's had numerous tests and procedures (many of them invasive), a couple of surgeries, 26 radiation treatments, over a dozen chemo treatments, and he will continue to undergo chemo until March 2014.
Despite all of this, every time an update is sent about his progress, it's accompanied by a picture of Markus with a big beautiful smile on his face. He is such a brave boy.
No child should ever have to go through any of this. No parent should ever have to watch their child go through any of this. Most importantly, no parent should ever have to worry about something like money while their child battles cancer.
Lina has been with Markus through this entire journey and is obviously not able to work. In addition to regular living expenses, the family faces additional expenses related to the care and treatment for Markus. In addition to some treatments not covered by OHIP, they have to drive to Sick Kids, pay for parking, pay for meals while at the hospital. It all adds up.
If there was anything I could possibly do to make Markus well, I would. The best I can do is try to eliminate a source of stress for the family.
In the spirit of giving during the holidays, I'm asking you to please consider supporting this family with a financial donation. No amount is too small.
