THEY HAVE LOST EVERYTHING!

Donation protected
Hi, I am Lobi Powell and I am helping to fundraise for my sister and her family Kelli Keahi of Lahaina, HI.

UPDATE 8/13/23
Thank you to everyone who has reached out, offered assistance, and contributed to the GOFundme. We are so fortunate to live in a community that will show up and help out when needed.

Current situation: My sister, her husband and daughter have found a place to stay. It's unfurnished but has electricity and they just got a tv and internet. They were able to see their house and confirmed that there is nothing left. Noe's car is salvageable, so that is good news. Lahaina is still closed and my brother goes at 4:30 every morning to help unload and deliver supplies and assist in the recovery efforts. A lot of his fire gear is lost so hoping that can get replaced soon. This is going to be a LONG road ahead to rebuild. Please continue to pray for all of the families who have lost loved ones and their homes and community. Staying positive in this situation is incredibly difficult. Any donation you have made has made a difference in letting them know that you are BEHIND them and BELIEVE in them.

They are using all funds to purchase items needed for day-to-day living, but are focused on having money to rebuild and sustain their mortgage and rent at the same time.

My Brother in law looking at their house. He built it with his dad and brother. There is nothing left.

By now you have heard that Lahaina Maui Hawaii was completely burned to rubble within 3 hours on 8/8/23. My sister and her family were able to evacuate with minimal items. They lost their home, which they built themselves. They lost my niece's car and my brother in laws boat. He uses that boat to fish for food for their family and family events. They lost all of their pictures, personal items, awards, clothes, dishes, literally everything. My niece's job burned down. They are beyond devasted but they will rebuild!

OHANA - my sister and her family are the definition of Ohana. They take care of family and friends in so many ways. My brother-in-law is a firefighter on Maui and was Hawaii's state employee of the year! My niece performs at local Luaus as an award-winning Tahitian Dancer and was the state champion for wrestling. She is currently studying to get her EMT to give back to the community. My sister has worked in the hospitality industry on Maui for over 30 years. They are active in the local Canoe Club and ingrained in the Hawaiin Culture.

They need help to purchase absolutely everything they lost and rent an apartment while they focus on helping friends and family and getting started on rebuilding. They would like to be the first to rebuild so that they can help their neighborhood and community in any way they can.

Keep in mind milk is $12 a gallon and gas is over $8 right now and in short supply.

Anything you can do to help is greatly appreciated. I can't send physical items. They have to purchase items that they can get locally.

If Maui has provided a memorable vacation for you, this is your chance to give back to those who made that vacation great for you!

We thank you and will keep posted on the progress of the massive rebuild that will happen as soon as they can get started!

Love and ALOHA!
