Our sweet, loving pal Miranda has recently experienced a horrific, traumatizing loss. She is going to need to take several weeks off of work. As someone who works paycheck to paycheck, this is a super stressful thing for her to have to navigate, but there is no way she can cashier at a busy grocery store during the holidays while moving through such intense grief and trauma right now.
We have a pretty solid care plan of massage, therapy, doctors, yoga, etc., some of which insurance will cover, some which will not. I'm currently working 3 jobs to pay for what I can, which also means I can't be at home as much as I need to in order to help care for her.
If you don't already know Miranda, know this: she is kind, genuine, compassionate, loving, fucking hilarious, warm, and generous. She's the person people turn to when they need to cry, even if they hardly know her. She is both extremely shy and loud. She loves her communities and is always working to engage more with them.
I'm setting this up secretly for her. I'm hoping to raise a little bit of cash for her so that money does not have to be an additional stress to an already super stressful time in her life. Also, I'm doing this so I can potentially not work as much and be able to stay home and care for her when she needs it. To be clear: all money raised here goes to Miranda (except for the Gofundme fees).
For Miranda, $800 would help her pay for a month of rent, therapy, massage, doctor's appointments, acupuncture, gas to get to appointments, car repairs, cell phone bill, car insurance (which just increased dramatically this week, without notice, because she moved to a new part of town MONTHS ago, despite never making a claim in 10 years of driving), food, tinctures, yoga, electric bill, and utilities.
I know this can be a super difficult time of year for many folks, emotionally and financially. Please do not feel bad if you cannot donate! Please do share this with folks who know Miranda, but please also help me keep this a secret from her! I'm going to show this to her at the end of the month!
