This is a request for support and financial help from anyone who values freedom of speech in America.
An impulsive, passionate moment led to a parody social media post which resulted in extremists calling the FBI and Florida local police.
Even though no individual was threatened and it was clear that the post was not serious and that Desirée was blowing off steam, she was arrested by the FBI. They intend to charge her with an “interstate threat to kidnap, injure or harm." With all the very real violence taking place in this country, the FBI had time to arrest a woman who doesn’t even own a firearm for making a parody video challenging far right gun violence.
To be clear, Desiree had no intention of hurting anyone. It is very obvious from the video that she was being purely satirical. She realizes now that some people were offended by the parody and somehow took it seriously, or pretended to, however, at the time of the post she felt that she was merely reversing the dialog that far right extremists dish out on a daily basis. She has never been in trouble before and does not stalk people or harass them.
This is a freedom of speech post and it is being blown-up because extremists have gone off the deep end to completely destroy her life and deny her a livelihood over one post they were offended by. They are threatening her physical safety, doxing her, spreading slander about her, and making it their mission to savagely attack her. Some of these men (and women) have far too much time on their hands and are trying to crucify her for speaking her mind, right here in America. They are even stalking and harassing her extended family and friends who had absolutely nothing to do with the situation.
She has lost her job over this extreme overreaction and is in desperate need of proper legal council. She cannot work because she has been made to wear an ankle device, as if she were a known violent criminal. This has put her in dire financial straights, all for speaking out about her frustrations with far right violence. If she had been asked to simply remove the post she would have, instead this has turned into a piranha event for the mentally unstable using conservatism as an excuse to completely obliterate a fellow American for speaking her mind.
Freedom of speech is constitutional right of all Americans—right, left or center, not just the American’s we agree with.
Desirée has reached out to an attorney who believes he can help, but she needs to pay a retainer and also her bills, which she just doesn’t have.
