Grandma's Home Repairs

Grandma Yahl has recently reached out about fixing a few things around her home. While grandma is always into crafty projects and updating, there are a few things that indeed need to be addressed. 

This Gofundme is to address a couple of those things that do indeed need repair to prevent her from attempting to get outside and do them herself.  They include a freshening of her back deck stain as well as the front porch area’s concrete. I have spent a day over there power washing and prepping these areas and thought that we as a family could come together to help fund the material costs to complete the work and call it a 2020 Christmas gift!

My time, of course, is volunteer. But there are a few other issues with the house that I would like to take care of for her like a re-taping of the drywall seams in the addition that have split with the settling of the addition over time, as well as repainting it and the kitchen. And if the funds allow, I would really like to do a complete repaint of the exterior for her. With the siding, soffits, gutters, etc being 40years old, I have ever so gently started power washing it... but anything more evasive than that will remove the aluminum siding’s coating. 

If you’ve been by grandmas in the past year or so you will notice that her home hasbecome the ugly duckling of the neighborhood and really does need basic work. With some loving care and a good amount of paint, I can get it back to the fresh white exterior that she both needs and would love. Let’s give back to this special woman in our lives and may the rest of her times be spent in happiness. 

I will gladly provide receipts for the materials purchased and anything we can come up with that is more than what’s needed for the basic repairs will be put towards her next big concern of wheelchair accessibility from the front of the house. The estimate on materials to repaint the exterior comes in at about $850 with the proper paint being $45/gallon
