Fundraising for Drongngur Jangchubling

Currently Drongngur Jangchubling does not have a dining space that can seat more than four people. Therefore we are hoping to raise the funds to build an elevated covered deck attached to the residential unit that we could use as a dinning space during Dharma events, and in particular when hosting visiting lamas. We have already received an estimate from a contractor and our wish is to get started as soon as possible and hopefully have it built by the winter teachings in February. Please help by donating whatever you can, and hopefully we will be able to reach our goal!


Scope of work:
-set (4) 6x6 pressure treated posts for 2^nd story rear deck
-post to be set in concrete
-frame deck with 2x12 PT joists, joist hangered from band joist
-2x12 joist will be 16" o.c.
-set (8) upper deck posts for upper perimeter
-frame in upper roof with 2x8, hip style roof
-sheet roof with 7/16" OSB
-apply 30lb roof felt, 30 year dimensional shingles
-roof rafters will be hurricane strapped
-all fasteners will be galvanized
-knee wall portion of deck will be T-1-11 vertical siding with upper 2x4 rail
-decking will be 5/4" x 6" PT decking
-deck will be attached to existing 2^nd floor deck via walkway with railings / balusters for safety
-lag bolt fasters will be epoxy coated
-engineered plans not included
