When in the moment of surviving and reacting to the challenges of our time, it’s difficult to proactively think for yourself, your well-being, and others.
Covid overwhelm is a chronic stress outcome for many in our communities. Right now, healthcare workers, teachers, small business owners and staff, as well as many others are struggling.
The vision of this fund is to provide support and stress relief based services to those working above and beyond, faced with unknowns, and sacrificing their livelihood for the collective.
Donations to this fund will contribute to:
- Therapeutic services offered from my own practice (www.evokebodymind.ca) and others in the community (facilitated breathwork, deep release sessions, massage, etc). This initiative will fund sessions for local practitioners to offer supportive sessions to those in need.
Recipients will have their choice of which service is funded. Think of it like a “pay it forward” chance to heal and release some stress.
- Gift cards to local restaurants and shops. Sometimes a good meal or an opportunity to shop local is enough to boost wellbeing and offer a break. The knowledge that the gift is funded and supporting local is even better.
Those able to contribute are also welcome to nominate someone in their community to be a recipient of a service or gift from this fund.
The mission: support those in need while supporting community run businesses.
Healing and stepping out of survival mode is a privilege for many in our community. This is a chance for those who know that privilege to offer it to someone who hasn’t been able to access it. Services funded will have no expiry date attached to them, so the resource remains available when the time is right to take a break.
Contribute a little or a lot. The average cost of a full service from a professional provider is $80-100/hr, and the cost of a local meal for 2 people is around the same. If contributing is not accessible to you, please take a moment to share!
Services and local businesses supported will be in the Winnipeg and surrounding areas.
To nominate a person to receive a session or gift, please email [email redacted] with their name, phone number and email/mailing address.
If you are a practitioner wanting to get involved, please email me as well so I can get you on the list of supported therapists within this initiative.
When we heal as individuals, we heal as communities. Thank you for your support.
