A kitty in need is a friend indeed
Hello there interwebs! This is a story of a little girl who had a streak of bad luck. Her name is Red the kitten.
Red is around six months old and is a rescue. She came to our home with her two siblings when our neighbor rescued them from a storm drain during a flash flood. Not only did his selfless act restore my faith in humanity, but Red and her brothers have brought us six months of joy and comfort through some pretty hectic times. Red is always there to warm our laps when we're chilly or sing to us when we're sad. She loves her stuffed mouse and cat treats. She also loves her brothers and sisters.
Now Red needs us. Monday, December 16, 2013, Red was attempting to blitz pounce her brother Sir Chip Pounce a Lot, but misjudged the distance and hit the wooden corner of their scratching post. The impact shattered her left thigh bone.

We took her to the hospital immediately. See the xrays? That's her actual injury. She needed surgery to fix it. I worked out a credit arrangement with the vet, so they could go forward with the surgery, but it will be expensive. We are trying to raise funds for the treatment, medicines and even therapy Red will need to recover from this serious injury. We are halfway to our goal, but need a little extra boost to reach the final amount needed. We are so grateful to those who have already donated and so grateful to everyone who shares the link. Words cannot express our gratitude.
As an incentive, my mother is offering a free 8x10 or 9x12 digital print of anything in my gallery for anyone who donates over $10.
For those who give $50-$100, she will do a commissioned drawing of their choice.
For anyone who gives $100 or more, I will be offering a custom watercolor painting, up to 14x17, donator's choice of subject matter.
