South Africa Volunteer Teaching Trip

This is a picture of me and Lupita, a little girl who I lived with when I volunteered in Preciosita, Mexico in spring of 2012. She still has a special place in my heart.

Well, I'd like to do it again!

I have just been accepted into the International Volunteer Headquarters (IVHQ) volunteer teaching program in Muizenberg, South Africa.

From May 19th until June 16th, I will be a volunteer teacher in a local public school. Working alongside teachers and other volunteers, we will be tutoring students one on one and in small groups.

A majority of these school children come from extremely poor backgrounds and broken homes.

Since this is a volunteer program, IVHQ helped me to make this fundraising page to pay for my travel and living expenses. My goal is to raise $2500 by April 1st 2014.

This trip is my way of giving back to the children, like Lupita from Mexico, who can use my help.

Every little bit, even a prayer, helps and will be greatly appreciated! Thank you!
