An ambassadorial, immersive course in Music Listening, Jamming and Literacy, facilitated without the use of words.
What Does It Cost?
Between the travel costs and a living wage for myself (I'll be receiving a wee stipend that will pretty much just cover groceries), I'm highballing it at 5820 USD for the three months. However, in the time I have between now and March, when I depart, I feel confident that I can save enough to only need help with 3500 of that.
Who Is Hosting?
ARDA - a language center in Pakse, Laos, dedicated to providing high-quality, affordable language skills in the Lao PDR. They have recently included a music section to their programming.
Why Does Anyone Need It?
I (a) need it so I can continue traveling, growing and learning about music, cultures, and communication, and allowing it to inform not only what I do pedagogically but also my creative output. Participants (b) will find it to be a non-threatening and easy-to-understand way of becoming cross-culturally conversational in music through jamming and listening. The World of Knowledge (c) needs it for roughly the same reasons I need it; also because Listening skills are growing increasingly selective and undervalued everywhere from preschools to senates.
Any questions regarding the rewards are welcome. Gifts exceeding $500 will be negotiated by request, meaning we'll have to discuss an appropriate reward because that is a lot of money to me and I want to thank you in a way that is meaningful to you. All other rewards are also negotiable.
