Our students don't often get hands-on science opportunities and going on a field trip to NASA Space Center would be a huge treat!
Ms. Anthony and Ms. Dominguez have a bubbly, active and eager group of 2nd and 3rd graders who want nothing more than a chance to explore, create and design. Our school is nestled in the piney woods of Central Texas with horses, chickens and peacocks as our neighbors. We would love for our students to experience a new learning atmosphere, especially in a science! We are a Title I school with a very small budget for field trips. Our students rarely get chances such as this, so we want to energize their thinking and give them a trip that they will remember forever!
Target has graciously awarded us with a grant that will cover the costs of the students' entry and meals. We plan to use this additional funding to charter a bus from Lost Pines Elementary straight to the NASA Space Center early in April. We will tour the NASA Space Center, conduct observations, experience the 3D shows, and explore the world of careers in space science.
With your help, this will happen for our students. They will feel valued, included, and motivated to become scientific learners! With the appropriate tools and learning experiences YOU are transforming their education. Please give our kids this opportunity that every child deserves.

Our students are expected to know how to use a variety of tools and methods to conduct science investigations and explain reasoning. Visiting the Space Center Houston will give our students hands-on experiences with collecting, recording, and analyzing information about space. Experiencing the Starship Gallery, Shuttle Mockup, and Astronaut Gallery will allow us to connect grade level appropriate science concepts with the history of science, science careers, and contributions of scientists.
