Help the Washington Family

Charleston area friends: Richard Washington, who works in maintenance at Porter-Gaud School and works weekends as assistant sexton at St. Philips Church, needs our help. Richard and his wife Patricia lost most of their belongings when an electrical fire struck their downtown apartment several weeks ago.
If you know Richard, you know that he is kind, friendly, and always happy to help others. Despite working two jobs, Richard and his wife lack a car, so he rides an older model bicycle to get around. Patricia told me that sometimes the bike has flat tires and other maintenance issues, making it difficult. Richard has a driver's license and hopes that one day he can afford to purchase a pick-up truck, but the house fire is a set back.
This week, the Washingtons are moving into another apartment, and they are thankful, but they could use some assistance in getting the new place outfitted. Here are some items that Richard and Patricia would be happy to receive:
* kitchen items, including plates, flatware, glassware, pots and pans, small appliances, etc.
* queen-sized sheets and pillowcases, bedspread, blankets, etc.
* towels and other bathroom items
* lamps
* gift cards to Target or Walmart to purchase clothing and other household basics
If you can help, I am asking you to donate as much as you can to this fund and I will be sure to get the funds To Richard and Patricia.
