Mega-Meg Mautner Crushes Masters Worlds

Hey OBRA, friends, and family!
I am organizing this fundraiser for one of our amazing OBRA members, Meg Mautner.
I believe most everyone knows who Meg is and there's a good chance you've first-handedly experienced one of the many things that makes Meg so special; maybe you've been to a Wednesday Night Track Class, have heard Meg cheering for you at a cross, road or track race, and/or have enjoyed one of her famous brownie bites.
Every day I am inspired by Meg's drive, determination, and training ethic, with every ounce of her being focused on reaching her cycling goals. She is by far one of the hardest working people I know - I've never heard Meg utter a complaint about a workout being too hard or too painful. "Can't" is a word that just doesn't exist in Meg's world.
We all know this bike racing thing isn't a cake walk. Would we do it if there wasn't some sort of pain and suffering? Of course, it's also the reward of seeing how far we can push ourselves, the cat & mouse game we play with our competitors, and standing on the top step of the podium... but sometimes injuries happen, and Meg has unfortunately seen more than her fair share of them.
Not to mention the broken bones that come with crashes (knock-on-wood, please no more crashing!), up until last year, Meg has been living, training and racing with a degenerative hip that would make the toughest of tough guys crumble and cry. Last November Meg underwent a full hip replacement surgery and it has been the best thing ever for her; for her life, for her training and now for her racing!
A year now with a new hip, hitting new cadence PR's, getting stronger and faster, Meg is even more excited about crushing the 2014 track season and my wish is to send her out to conquer the world at the 2014 Masters Track Worlds competition in Manchester, England.
Please join me in showing your appreciation for our amazing Mega-Meg. Next week (December 19th) is Meg's birthday, and I would love to surprise her with a GIANT check signed from all of us to help pay for her USAC International License, race registration, flights, bike bag fees, accommodation and etc.
