Apartment Flood Recovery

The heavy rain earlier this month caused the storm drain on our block to overload, sending roughly 400 gallons of water into our apartment.
We managed to bail out and wet vac everything that came in, but not before it soaked half of the basement.

While our landlord has been assisting with repairs to the building itself, many of our personal belongings were ruined by the flooding. Unfortunately, the flood insurance in our area only covers washers, dryers, and freezers on basement levels.

We're looking for $1750 to replace some of the personal items we've lost, which includes: 2 couches, a microwave, several bookshelves, shoes, coats, and other clothing, a cell phone, and a few sets of luggage.

Even though the water is gone, our time and energy  has been monopolized this month by clean-up and sanitizing, sorting and removing damaged property, and arranging visits with contractors. This money will help to alleviate some of the pressure of recuperating.
