Kidney Transplant

My daughter Veronica has been a healthy and active individual her whole life. Growing up, she enjoyed dance, music, theater, and horse riding. During her twenties she became diagnosed with a form of Chronic Kidney Disease. The cause was unknown, but it became clear that it was due to a reaction to a common over the counter medication.

Veronica went into full kidney failure and had to go on dialysis. She has been awaiting a kidney transplant and has been on dialysis for 3 years.
She had to give up full time work  and most of her activities because of her kidney failure.

I recently got approved to become my daughter's kidney donor! We will be going into transplant surgery on September 20, 2018 at the University of San Francisco in California. We are very excited, but we need your help!

Because of the 4 hour driving distance from where we live to the hospital, our pre and post-op travel and lodging will be expensive.  (We will each need to go back and forth for follow-up appointments after our surgeries.) Veronica will have a 2-3 month recovery period, and I (her kidney donor) will have a 6-8 week recovery period, until we can both return to work.

Your generous donations will help offset the pre and post surgery expenses of transportation, lodging and meals, as well as the cost to engage a house/pet sitter to care for my home for a month. They will also allow me to recoup some of the out-of-pocket expenses already paid for the several overnight trips Blaire, her sister, and I have had to make to San Francisco this past past year for various testing dates. (All 3 of us were tested as potential donors.)
