Justin's Battle with Cancer

Donation protected
My nephew, Justin, was diagnosed with Stage Four Colon Cancer on October 24, 2013. Justin and his wife, Lorrie, made a decision for him to be treated at the Markey Cancer Center in Lexington because of the excellent reputation they have for their expertise in fighting cancer. Surgery was performed to remove a large tumor in his colon on October 31, 2013. The tumor had gone through the wall of Justin's colon and reached 8 lymph nodes. Starting the month of December, Justin will begin chemotherapy 6 days a month for six months to kill any remaining cells that may still be present and to prevent any reoccurrence of the cancer in the future. It is possible that radiation will be implemented into his treatment plan in order to treat this as aggressively as possible. Justin has been unable to work since he was diagnosed on October 24 and will be off work for several more months. The medical bills, co-pays, travel and other expenses have been rising quicker than we had hoped, especially during the holiday season. We are reaching out for the generosity of others, but also want you to know not to feel obligated in any way. With less worrying about the monetary value of this journey, we could concentrate better on getting him well.
