Liz and Smokey
By this time, many of you may know, a member of the Greyhound Options community has been hospitalized since before Christmas. Liz Sparkes, mom of Smokey, is facing some serious health issues. She has been unable to work for quite some time and was unable to even visit with her beloved Smokey until quite recently. Smokey has been staying with Matt and Christy Lyons in Wakefield.
Liz expressed her appreciation to Greyhound Options folks in a previous Facebook post: "Today I am feeling especially blessed to be a part of the G.O. community, the outpouring of love and support for both Smokey and I the last couple of months has been amazing."
Liz is currently at Spaulding Rehab in Charlestown, MA, receiving extensive physical and occupational therapy as she recovers from spine surgery. There will be other treatments, as well, as time goes on. It could be a long road, but Liz is a tough cookie and is trying not to let all this get her down.
In an effort to try and alleviate some of her worries, a fund has been set up to help offset some of Liz and Smokey's expenses. Please consider a donation in any amount.
