365 Mental Health for Students

Donation protected
From November 8, 2020 to December 31, 2020, help us fundraise $25,000 to provide 500 students free access to remote mental health care and stress management for the year of 2021.

Before the COVID-19 pandemic, student stress levels were already on the rise. High school students obsess over their grades, extracurriculars, college admissions, and even family finances. College students worry about making it through a new academic challenge and what comes next after graduation. The relentless stress takes its toll on student mental health, sometimes even manifesting itself in physical symptoms like anxiety or insomnia.

It’s no surprise then, that when surveyed by the American Psychological Association, 91% of students reported feeling stressed or overwhelmed, 39% of students experience a significant mental health issue in school, and 25% have thoughts of suicide—the 2nd leading cause of death for students. These aren’t just statistics, though.

Real people—your friends, classmates, students, children, sisters, brothers, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews—form these saddening statistics. Although stress culture has slowly become the norm for many students, we cannot passively accept this as the new reality. With your help, we can help students manage their stress and improve their mental health.

Sadly, not all students have the financial resources and time to consult a professional for their mental health. Even though it shouldn’t exist, stigma about mental health and treating it still exists. However, we believe that mental health is key to a person’s overall health, and people should treat it as just as important as physical health. Stigma and lack of resources should not pose a barrier to accessing mental health care and comprehensive stress management.

More than ever, in a time of great stress and uncertainty, the time is now to equip our students with the resources needed to improve their mental health. See what students have to say about how Neolth has helped them.

We seek to raise $25,000 to provide 365 days of free access to Neolth (an award-winning remote stress management platform) for 500 students. These accounts will be given to students affiliated with Bay Area Community Resources, a trusted organization that's been around for 40+ years.

Donate today to help make this possibility come true before December 31. There are two ways you can donate: 1. Donate what you can to support this effort. 2. Buy ONE give ONE model*, if you donate $50 you will receive an annual subscription to Neolth for you or your child (14+ years) and an additional subscription will be donated to a BACR student. We appreciate your generosity in taking the time to learn about this critical topic and supporting the 365 Mental Health Fundraiser.
