Mickey's journey began when she was diagnosed with Rhabdomyo Sarcoma, in July of 2015.  It has been a battle since the beginning and continues to be, day after day.  John and Mickey have worked together, not only fight this cancer, but to maintain a home environment that is peacful and well managed with 2 young kids.  They have relied heavily on the support of each of you, through prayer, providing meals, help with the kids and time spent with them.  They are grateful for everything and have at times been overwhelmed with the continuous love and support.  
On November 27th, Mickey was admitted into the Stanford hospital because the pain was getting out of control, she was having trouble eating and was becoming very weak. Prior to this she was on two immunotherapy drugs that they were really hopeful about, but in the end they did not work. After some scans they had found that the cancer had spread significantly.  She was put on a different chemotherapy and recieved 6 rounds of radiation to her right eye and spine.  They are working hard to get her on a new trial drug, but having to jump through many insurance loops to recieve it.  They came home December 7th, and things have become a bit more difficult as Mickey has had some side effects to her eye and is having a hard time seeing and getting around.   With this being said they are needing their nanny more hours and have also commited to a house keeper every week.  These are necessities for them as they move forward.  As you can imagine, even with insurance the expenses can become overwhelming.  
Many of you have been asking how to help and after discussing this with John and Mickey they felt this would be the biggest help to them right now. These funds will allow for them to continue to keep their nanny the hours they need her, pay for additional medical necessities, as well as continue to have their house cleaned weekly for the next 6 months.
