What can you do when you are one of a 1000 people out of the 7.5 billion on the planet who have been diagnosed with this particular disease. Imagine having your guts knotted up as though you had Crohn's disease, add to that fever and aches as though you had flu, add to this the feeling that you have the arthritic joints of a 80 year old and you are 42... Now you have a idea of what T.R.A.P.S syndrome is like. Now imagine having cancer and being diagnosed with M.S as well. I wanted to let you all know a little bit about her. She is the mother of 4 amazing children. We have 2 that are disabled..Christefer has cerebral palsy, while our son Brandon has Asperger's syndrome. Amie took our children to therapy 4 times a week for years. She is the reason they are as well adjusted and are graduating from High School. And will be going to college. She is a grandmother of a beautiful little 3 year old who thinks the moon and sun set because of her. She lost her brother when she was 26, and didn't realize at the time that she had contracted strep throat. After the funeral she came home went to the doctors and turned out she had developed Rheumatic Fever. She was on antibiotics for 3 years . She has worked hard all of her life. She was a HR director, Translator in charge and Assistant to the CEO of a startup company for 4 years before the internet crash. Amie worked her way through school and was a professional VIP chef for Bristol Motor Speedway. She was also store manager of two different locations of the store she worked for. One day at work she slipped on the floor and broke her wrist. She had a injection in that arm to help the numbness and contracted staph infection. She fought for her life for 10 days. They actually told us she might not make it...but she did. But her immune system has never been the same. She then devolved strange fevers etc..that's when she was diagnosed with T.R.A.P.S. She was diagnosed with Cancer, and while at Mayo diagnosed with M.S. She is homebound until surgery she can go back and forth to the doctors but other than that she really can't leave the house. Her immune system can't take it. She can't even have a flu shot. Amie is funny, nice, helps everyone she knows, a fantastic mother, strong minded, strong willed, loving..she would give you the shirt off her back...and has actually. Amie loves The Walking Dead, True Blood, Doctor Who... She loves us and we love her. It will be 20 years Dec.05 that we have been married...and I want to see it go another 50.
You all know the medical bills, the hardships, but on the advice of a friend I wanted to let you know her. My love my wife Amie.
