Your help is needed...

A family friend has had a very bad turn of luck over the past few years. We recently hosted a wedding at our house for one of our dear friends, who's sister Miki flew up to Minneapolis for the event. When she and her children returned to their home in Chicago on Sunday, their home had been burglarized. Someone had broken in through her daughter's bedroom window and walked out through the front door with all the electronics in the home, including the computer, TV, and the kids' toys and game systems. The house was ransacked and it's not yet clear what all was taken. This is in addition to a tragic event from a couple of years ago, when Brian - the kids' father and Miki's husband - passed away unexpectedly at a very young age.

Miki is now a widow raising three kids on her own, no longer feels safe living there, and is going to be temporarily living with a relative while jumping through hoops applying for assistance for new housing. The kids are also going to have to change schools. Miki works as a CNA and is currently out on medical leave due to a broken bone in her foot. This poor family has been through the ringer over the past few years, and I know any little thing will help.


Donations here will help with moving costs, christmas gifts for the kids, and any additional expenses associated with having to uproot a family's life so suddenly.
