Car on fire

Donation protected
My mom was on her way home from work but at a stoplight down the block, she noticed it started smelling like smoke and saw a bit of smoke coming out. She was two minutes away from the house when it turned from a little bit of smoke to a huge flame. She said smoke began coming in thru the ac vent and quickly flooded the interior with smoke. She tried putting on the emergency lights but was unable to see with the thick smoke so she just put it in park and quickly got out of the car. During this incident, I was at home and remember she quickly ran inside coughing and saying to call 9-1-1. I thought she had been in an accident with another vehicle as she was panting and had a worried look on her face that I've never seen, but once she got her breathing back she said "My car is on fire!". I went outside and saw the flames coming from the hood of her car.  I called 9-1-1 and the firefighters had to cut thru the metal black frame in order to open up the hood. My mom was devastated as she has had that car for over 8 years and had invested money throughout the years in mechanical issues but in the past month she had just paid off her insurance, replaced the front windshield (which was cracked), and new tires. It was the first time I saw my mother cry and I let her know that her well being is the only thing that matters as the incident could have been worse. Even though the car has sentimental value to her as it was the first car she felt comfortable driving in, what has made her tense up is besides the other bills piling up, having to find someone available to take her to both of her jobs while she saves up enough money for a new vehicle.  She feels like a bother having to ask family and friends for a ride in the time being but I let her know we don't mind.My mom is someone who likes helping others without receiving anything in return. Therefore, I have not told her yet that I am making a go fund me for her because I know she would tell me not to. But I can see it in her eyes how stressed she is with other road blocks in her life right now and I want to be able to help her and hoping others can too. The money would go 100% to my mom in order for her to buy a new vehicle, and to recover from the money she spent on medical expenses after visiting the doctor from  all the smoke she inhaled. I'd like to thank everyone in advance for simply sharing this post and reading her story. Even if it's a dollar, it really would go along way :)
