<div>She has been on targeted treatment for this since then and thankfully this has worked in reducing the size of the primary tumour in her lung and there is now no evidence of metastases in her brain.

<div>As amazing as this is, we are currently in the process of researching options for when the time comes that this medication no longer works as well as it does, which is unfortunately a common occurrence. In doing this, we have found that resection of the primary tumour and lymph nodes in the surrounding area has been found to be beneficial in increasing the duration of survival in EGFR cancer so that she would have the best chance of being around for her granddaughter, Ophelia and grandson due in December 2025 as long as possible.

<div>This is still in the early stages of being offered on the NHS due to funding, therefore I am hopeful that we may be able to raise some money to help facilitate this privately.

<div>My Mum is the most selfless and caring person I know who deserves the absolutely world! She does anything for anyone, which is one of many reasons why I am wanting to do this for her, as well as to give her the best chance of getting to see her grandchildren grow for them to remember her and her hilariously nutty ways.
